Gloucestershire Old Spot Pigs

We raise our Gloucestershire Old Spot (GOS for short) pigs in the woods to help us keep the briars and underbrush at bay, while raising delicious pork. While GOS are grazing pigs grass is a reserved for the cows on our homestead. Even though GOS are grazing pigs the do root some looking for grubs, but nothing like our mangalista pigs. The adults are trained to one strand electric fence, making paddock moves a breeze through the woods. This is the first breed that will follow us around the property with a feed bucket and not  go on an unplanned adventure. All we needed was a feed bucket and someone following behind with a pig board(just incase they decide to go a different way.) and a cross property move is a breeze. They are very gentle and docile, even our huge boar loves to be pet! They are like giant dogs that love belly rubs and flop over for some scratches.

Currently we have a Countess Sow (US/2/DGL/0328/104-C2/24) and Rufus Boar (US/1/DOS/0502/157-3/20).

Our animals are registered with Gloucestershire Old Spots of America, Inc. (GOSA for short) This is a very supportive pig community and I am very blessed to have the pig mentor who LOVES the breed more than we do.  CLICK HERE for more information about the GOS breed.
